Privacy notice

• Your name and email address.
• A selfie you take or choose. It is resized and compressed on your phone before upload, and location data is removed.
• The date and time you gave consent, and which version of the consent text you agreed to.
• After processing: which of the photographer’s photos you appear in, with a similarity score.

Only to find the wedding photographs you appear in and email you a private link to them. Your selfie is never used to train AI models, for advertising, or for any other purpose.

Your selfie is stored in a private storage bucket. Facial matching runs on a private computer belonging to the person organising QPic for this wedding — not on a cloud AI service. The mathematical face descriptions used for matching (“embeddings”) stay on that computer and are never uploaded. Only the finished, optimised wedding photos are stored online, in private cloud storage, and shown through links that expire.

Only the event administrators can see the guest list and selfies. Your gallery can only be opened with the private link emailed to you — please don’t share it. There is no public list of guests or galleries.

Each event has a retention date. After that date, selfies, match results and guest details are permanently deleted. Galleries also stop working after their expiry date, so please download the photos you want to keep.

You can ask for your selfie and data to be deleted at any time by replying to your gallery email or contacting the couple or their QPic organiser. We will delete your selfie, your match results and your details.

Face matching is automated and can make mistakes — it may miss some photos you appear in, or occasionally suggest the wrong person. Suggested matches are reviewed by a person before any gallery is emailed, and QPic is tuned to prefer missing a photo over showing you someone else’s.
